This position is part of the grant PID NA-I00, funded by MCIN/AEI/ and the ESF+. We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join the laboratory of Dr. Talya Dayton at EMBL Barcelona.
Research FocusThe Dayton lab develops 3D in vitro organoid models of human tissue to recapitulate developmental and cancer phenotypes. Our research aims to understand how developmental and cancer pathways intersect and can be manipulated for patient benefit.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research on human organoid models to understand the influence of hypoxia, nicotine, and genetic perturbations on pulmonary neuroendocrine cells and their susceptibility to cancer.
- Lead your own project, contribute to other projects, and guide PhD and Masters students in their research.
- Contribute to shaping the environment and research of a young and growing research team.
- PhD and/or MD or equivalent doctoral degree.
- Demonstration of expertise in the form of published paper(s) or preprints.
- Strong practical skills in primary cell culture.
- Knowledge of advanced gene editing techniques and CRISPR/Cas9-based screens.
- Ability to prioritize, see the big picture, and focus on details.
- Ability to work independently and establish effective networks and working relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Experience with advanced bioinformatic tools.
- Interest in chromatin biology.
- Experience in 3D organoid models.
- Skills in advanced microscopy techniques.
