About the Role:As a Senior Fund Accountant, you will be instrumental in executing and overseeing the accounting functions associated with investment funds. This role is tailored for a meticulous professional with substantial accounting experience, ensuring the precision and integrity of financial records, adherence to regulatory requirements, and timely financial reporting.
Your responsibilities will include supervising the preparation and examination of financial statements, guaranteeing that all transactions are accurately documented and classified according to fundcraft's established procedures. You will be tasked with delivering monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, focusing on maintaining standardization and data accuracy within the fundcraft platform. A crucial aspect of your role will involve ensuring uniform accounting practices across various funds, promoting the adoption of best practices, and ensuring that financial data is accurately represented in the system. Your contributions will be essential in enhancing the reliability and efficiency of the fundcraft platform.
Furthermore, the Senior Fund Accountant will proactively identify and rectify discrepancies, strengthen internal controls, and drive improvements within the accounting function.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the Accounting Manager with the daily administration of assigned clients.
- Support team development and operate in a senior capacity.
- Review and ensure accurate fee accruals, performance/incentive fee calculations, and their disbursement.
- Manage daily reconciliations, ensuring discrepancies are addressed and entries are recorded.
- Calculate income distributions and assist with capital activities.
- Review and, when necessary, prepare financial statements with footnotes and respond to audit inquiries.
- Timely escalate issues or errors, propose solutions, and fulfill all assigned tasks within service level agreements while meeting client expectations.
- Assist team members in executing daily operational tasks.
- Ensure adherence to procedures, controls, and best practice documentation while supporting updates.
- Contribute to fundcraft's business objectives or OKRs to foster growth and development.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet client needs.
- Assist with ad hoc projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance.
- Qualified Accountant (CPA, ACCA, or CA), or in the process of obtaining qualification.
- 4 - 6 years of experience in the funds industry.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Knowledge of the Luxembourg fund industry.
- Interest in emerging technologies.
- Fluent in Spanish (spoken and written).
