About the Role:As a Senior Fund Accountant, you will be integral in executing and overseeing the accounting functions associated with investment funds. This role is tailored for a meticulous professional with substantial accounting experience, ensuring the precision and integrity of financial records, adherence to regulatory standards, and timely financial reporting.
Your responsibilities will include supervising the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring that all transactions are accurately documented and classified according to fundcraft's established procedures. You will be tasked with delivering monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, emphasizing standardization and data accuracy within the fundcraft platform. A crucial aspect of your role will be to maintain consistent accounting practices across various funds, championing the implementation of best practices and ensuring that financial data is reliably represented in the system. Your efforts will be essential in enhancing the dependability and efficiency of the fundcraft platform.
Moreover, the Senior Fund Accountant will proactively identify and rectify discrepancies, strengthen internal controls, and drive process enhancements within the accounting function.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the Accounting Manager with the daily administration of assigned clients.
- Support team development and operate in a senior capacity.
- Review and ensure the accuracy of fee accruals, performance/incentive fee calculations, and their disbursement.
- Manage daily reconciliations, resolving discrepancies and ensuring accurate entries.
- Calculate income distributions and assist with capital activities.
- Review and, when necessary, prepare financial statements with accompanying notes and respond to audit inquiries.
- Timely escalate issues or errors, propose solutions, and meet all assigned tasks within service level agreements while fulfilling client expectations.
- Provide support to team members in executing daily operational tasks.
- Ensure adherence to procedures, controls, and best practice documentation while facilitating updates.
- Support fundcraft's business objectives or OKRs to foster growth and development.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet client requirements.
- Assist with ad hoc projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance.
- Qualified Accountant (CPA, ACCA, or CA), or in the process of obtaining qualification.
- 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in the funds industry.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Knowledge of the Luxembourg fund industry.
- Interest in emerging technologies.
- Fluent in Spanish (spoken and written).
