Job Summary:
Vall D'Hebron Institut De Recerca is seeking a highly skilled Microscopy Support Specialist to join our team in the Microscopy Platform of the High Technology Unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and expertise in optical microscopy, cell culture, and image analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support and training to researchers in the use of optical microscopes and related equipment.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new microscopy techniques and protocols.
- Conduct cell culture and sample preparation techniques for optical microscopy.
- Analyze and interpret images using specialized software.
- Collaborate with researchers to design and optimize experimental protocols.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in microscopy and image analysis.
Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Health/Life Sciences or related field.
- Previous experience working in a microscopy core-facility, using widefield and confocal microscopes at operator level.
- Demonstrable experience in cell culture and sample preparation techniques used in optical microscopy.
- Strong knowledge of image analysis software and programming languages (R, Python, ImageJ).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Bioinformatics and Biostatistics, oriented to image analysis.
- Experience working under a quality management system (preferably ISO9001:2015).
