Counsellor (Maternity Leave) - Supportive Guidance for Students

About the Role

Colejobs is seeking a highly skilled and empathetic Counsellor to provide supportive guidance to students in a temporary maternity cover role. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital part in ensuring the well-being and academic success of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Implement and Oversee Guidance Programmes: Develop and implement a comprehensive guidance programme that provides students with a safe and non-judgmental space to discuss their concerns and worries.
  2. Safeguarding and Welfare: Contribute to the promotion of the welfare and personal care of children and young people, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
  3. Collaboration and Support: Assist school leadership, programme coordinators, and teachers in planning and executing school-related programmes and events.
  4. Admissions Support: Participate in admissions processes to ensure a smooth transition for new students.
  5. Student Performance Analysis: Analyze student performance to provide guidance and identify potential challenges or areas of concern.
  6. Academic Planning: Help students develop academic plans tailored to their skills, talents, and strengths.
  7. Confidentiality and Support: Maintain confidentiality and support the school's efforts to provide excellent teaching and learning for all students.
  8. Intervention and Prevention Programmes: Facilitate intervention and prevention programmes to promote student well-being and academic success.
Requirements
  1. Relevant Qualifications: Hold a relevant university degree in Psychology or Pedagogy, and a Master's degree in Education or equivalent professional certification.
  2. Language Proficiency: Be highly proficient in spoken and written English and Spanish (C2 or equivalent).
  3. Visa Requirements: Possess a visa to work in any EU member state.

  1. International School Experience: Experience working in international schools and contexts.
  2. IB Programme Knowledge: Knowledge and experience of the IB Diploma Programme and/or Career-Related Programme.
  3. Coach Training: Possess coach training or be willing to undergo training.
  4. Growth Mindset: Demonstrate a growth mindset and be willing to develop your skills and knowledge.
