About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Squash Breeder to join our team at Rijk Zwaan. As a key member of our Squash breeding team, you will be responsible for developing new squash varieties for global markets.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Crop Management: Coordinate crop-related processes, including seed logistics, crossing, marker-assisted selection, phenotyping, and administrative tasks.
  2. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement changes to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  3. Technology Integration: Stay up-to-date with the latest technology developments and implement them in our breeding program.
  4. Variety Trials: Design and evaluate variety trials in our stations and with clients worldwide.
  5. Strategic Discussions: Participate in strategic discussions to shape the direction of our breeding program.
Requirements
  1. Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Applied Biology, or Plant Breeding.
  2. Language Skills: Proficient in English and Spanish languages.
  3. Experience: Previous experience in plant breeding is an asset.
