Job Summary
We are seeking a Value Improvement Engineer (Piping or Stress Engineer) to provide support to project leaders, engineering, and construction teams in identifying and implementing cost reduction alternatives. The successful candidate will benchmark design against historical performance, industry norms, and client standards to provide alternative designs that meet customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support to project leaders, engineering, and construction teams in identifying and implementing cost reduction alternatives.

- Facilitate value workshops and identify opportunities for process enhancement.
- Manage communications or workshops with clients (if required).
- Prepare multi-discipline conceptual and definitive cost reduction proposals for capital projects.
- Break down silos, improving communications and enabling individuals to contribute to a team solution.
- Provide recommendations that will be incorporated into corporate specifications and standards for future use.
- Translate project scope and proposed alternatives into an estimate of capital expenditure costs.
- Identify areas of uncertainty and apply appropriate allowances.
- Collect actual and alternative cost performance data and develop metrics and benchmarking information.
- Stay up-to-date with significant developments in new techniques and materials.
Requirements
- Degree in engineering discipline.
- 10-15 years of experience, including at least 5 years devoted to petrochemical, refinery, chemical, or power generation projects as a senior specialist or project engineer.
- Advanced industry expertise and a proven ability to develop a deep understanding of industry trends and strategic opportunities.
