About the Role

This is a challenging opportunity to join Amazon's team as a Commissioning Engineer, working on the construction and commissioning of data centers in the EMEA region. As a key member of the AWS Commissioning team, you will be responsible for ensuring that the data centers meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support vendors and contractors in the construction and commissioning of data center systems, including power, cooling, and building management systems.
  • Develop and execute test procedures for mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring compliance with design intent and approved equipment submittals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to schedule, plan, and execute commissioning activities, ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Conduct site audits to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Provide comprehensive weekly reporting on project status and lessons learned to improve the quality of the program.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in mission-critical facilities or data center infrastructure, with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of commissioning experience, with certification or training in NETA, ASHRAE, or Commissioning specific education courses.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally for up to 30% of the time, with a valid driver's license and personal transportation for meetings and job visits.
  • Competency in both spoken and written Spanish and English.
  • Physical ability to work at heights, walk uneven terrain, and lift objects weighing up to 49 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, with experience in SharePoint or similar platforms.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to work in high-stress environments and maintain calm and respectful interaction with multiple teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for critical infrastructures, with experience in reading and editing construction documents.
