About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Engineer to join our team at Amazon. As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our data centers and critical infrastructure systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commissioning of medium and low voltage power systems, generators, UPS, HVAC, chilled water systems, building management systems, and electrical power monitoring systems.
  • Testing and balancing of systems, including pumps and hydronic systems.
  • Providing multi-discipline input into project scheduling, test script development, designing, and planning.
  • Reviewing component submittal packages, leading factory witness testing, and performing system-level and integrated system testing.
  • Ensuring compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements during commissioning.
  • Providing comprehensive weekly reporting of project status and lessons learned.
About the Team

The AWS Data Center Commissioning Team is a highly skilled and experienced team of engineers and professionals dedicated to ensuring the quality and reliability of our data centers and critical infrastructure systems.

Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in mission-critical facilities or data center infrastructure.
  • 5+ years of commissioning experience.
  • Certification or training in NETA, ASHRAE, or commissioning-specific education courses.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time, with reimbursement for personal transportation.
  • Competency in both spoken and written Spanish and English.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk job sites in uneven terrain.
  • Work at heights and from ladders.
  • Regularly walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Carry objects weighing up to 49 pounds for short distances.
  • Work shifts longer than eight hours in duration with potential for night and weekends.
  • Respond to off-hour emergency calls.
