Job Title: Director of Horticulture at a Luxury Resort

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Horticulture to join our team at a luxury resort in Marbella. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of our hotel's green areas and gardens, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and luxury.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Planning and Supervision: Design and plan the layout and design of gardens, green areas, and outdoor spaces, in coordination with hotel management. Supervise the gardening team, assigning daily tasks and managing work schedules to ensure task completion.
  • Garden and Green Area Maintenance: Perform and coordinate pruning, mowing, watering, fertilization, and the planting of trees, shrubs, flowers, and grass. Ensure that all plants and lawns are in optimal condition, maintaining a well-groomed and attractive appearance for guests.
  • Personnel and Resource Management: Coordinate and train the gardening team, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge to perform tasks efficiently. Manage the purchase and stock of gardening materials, such as tools, fertilizers, plants, and chemicals.
  • Collaboration with Other Departments: Collaborate with the maintenance department and other hotel departments to ensure proper integration of gardens with hotel facilities. Support in the decoration of events and special activities that require the use of plants and natural elements.
  • Quality Standards Compliance: Ensure that the design and maintenance of the gardens meet the quality and luxury standards of a 5-star hotel. Regularly inspect garden areas to ensure the cleanliness, order, and aesthetics of the environment.

  • Proactivity and Autonomy: Ability to work under pressure and solve problems quickly and effectively.
  • Teamwork and Adaptability: Effective communication skills to interact with other departments and suppliers.
