Position Overview

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Portfolio Manager to join our Specialty Pharmaceuticals Global Portfolio Management team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong scientific or medical background, with experience in evaluating commercial opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry. A background in healthcare investment banking or consulting is advantageous, but a deep understanding of the scientific and medical aspects of innovative treatments is essential. This role demands high analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate new commercial opportunities within the specialty pharmaceuticals sector, focusing on innovative treatments for rare diseases.
  • Develop comprehensive forecasts and deal models to support business decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with the business development team and expert functions to align on strategic objectives and drive project success.
  • Screen and monitor ongoing developments in therapeutic areas of interest to identify potential opportunities.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management in a clear, concise, and effective manner.
  • Ensure accuracy and reliability in all analytical assessments and reporting.
  • Maintain high levels of motivation and resilience, demonstrating the ability to transition seamlessly between projects.

Qualifications

  • PhD or Medical Degree required.
  • Proven experience in healthcare investment banking or consulting, or a similar role in the innovative pharmaceutical industry.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • High proficiency in English.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to our headquarters in Germany.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects effectively and deliver high-quality results.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to convey complex messages simply and effectively to senior management.

Estimated Salary: €80,000 - €110,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
