About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Manager to join our team at Gleeds. As a key member of our cost management team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality cost management services to our clients in the data centre construction sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectives
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Deliver high-quality cost management services and ensure deliverables meet customer requirements
  • Prepare and present cost estimates and option studies
  • Cost planning and cost-in-use studies
  • Advising on and implementing procurement strategies
  • Preparing tender documentation and managing the tender process
  • Evaluating and reporting on tenders
  • Valuing completed work and arranging for payments
  • Settling final accounts
  • Providing technical advice on legal and contractual issues
  • Administering contracts as Contract Administrator or Employer's Agent
  • Producing and presenting reports to customers
  • Mentoring and coaching employees
  • Preparing bids for services
  • Managing service delivery for profit
About You

We are looking for a candidate with sound commercial/cost management experience in data centre construction projects, covering pre-contract and construction/post-contract cost management tasks. You should have practical knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies. Additionally, you should have clear and effective communication skills, a methodical approach to work, and excellent problem-solving and negotiating skills.

You should also have a degree in Quantity Surveying and professional qualifications and/or membership of the RICS, CIOB, CICES, CIPS, or other relevant Chartered Institute. English language proficiency is essential, with a C2/native level.
