About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our Infrastructure Instrumentation team in Europe. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and scaling Rust and Go clients/projects as well as their support tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of open-source instrumentation agents and integrations for various products, including Kafka and MySQL.
  • Collaborate with team members to discuss and implement service improvements, research new tools and services to solve sophisticated problems.
  • Ship incrementally and often, helping the team to maintain a constant flow of feedback on its work.
  • Work in an agile environment with a DevOps approach, participating in second-layer support rotations.
Requirements
  • At least three years of experience in software development, with a passion for open-source software, Linux systems, software architectures, and Rust programming language.
  • Autonomous, cross-functional, and agile individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment focused on delivering high-quality software at a regular cadence.
  • Self-motivated, fast learner, accountable, and demonstrates creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues in important decisions and share code ownership.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing instrumentation products.
  • Experience developing on different Unix OSes and Windows.
  • Upstream contributions to relevant Open Source projects like OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, DBs, http servers, etc.
