About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Full Stack Developer to join our reporting team as Lead R&D Engineer at ANSYS, Inc.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, architecture, and research of projects at a technical level.
  • Coordinate product design and development activities, requiring extensive analysis in areas such as user experience, software design, and solver research.
  • Act as a technical reference within a group or product.
  • Develop and maintain best practices, and mentor junior developers.
  • Perform complex bug verification, release testing, and beta support across multiple products.
  • Research problems discovered by QA or product support and develop solutions, collaborating with the QA/support team.
  • May work with strategic customers or proxies to assess needs and develop solutions.
  • Operate with minimal supervision and may function as a team leader, project manager, or software architect.
Requirements
  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 8 years' experience, MS with 6 years' experience, or PhD with 4 years' experience.
  • Proficiency in back-end technologies such as Python, Django.
  • Familiarity with the W3C Web Components specifications and best practices for building interoperable and reusable components.
  • Proven track record of crafting robust and efficient code.
  • Experience with version control systems and Agile development methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with cloud technologies (e.g. AWS, Azure).
  • Experience with web 3D technologies (e.g. WebGL).
  • Experience leading projects and delivering high-quality products in a large-scale commercial software development environment.
  • Ability to translate business needs into development plans.
  • Ability to overcome obstacles and drive projects to completion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and geographies, and to mentor junior developers.
