About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Architect to join our team at Dow Jones. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining database architecture and code initiatives that support our internal and third-party software solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with our product teams to provide timely, effective, and performant solutions that meet the needs of our business.
  2. Contribute to the design of scalable data solutions, including the development of automated pipelines that ensure data consistency and integrity.
  3. Implement and/or maintain database systems to ensure the availability and consistent performance of our application suite.
  4. Understand and define business data requirements and identify data needs and data sources to create scalable data architecture and support enhancements, new product, and implementation.
  5. Coach, mentor, and train team members to drive both employee and team development and growth.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  2. Minimum 4 years of database developer/engineering experience (SQL Server, PostgreSQL preferred).
  3. Ability to create and understand data models.
  4. Ability to create and maintain stored procedures, views, functions.
  5. Ability to write advanced SQL code; queries and statements to explore source data and data issues.
  6. Working knowledge of cloud data technologies and architecture.
  7. Working knowledge of Python, PowerShell, or Power BI.
  8. Working knowledge of building CI/CD pipelines for code deployment.
  9. Experience with execution plan analysis and performance tuning.
  10. Must speak and write in English fluently; effective communicator.
