Lead Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Engineer to join our team at Lambda Executive. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data systems that support our business operations.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of data engineers in the design, development, and deployment of data pipelines and systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and develop data solutions that meet those needs.
  • Design and implement data architectures that ensure data quality, security, and scalability.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines that integrate with various data sources and systems.
  • Work with data scientists and analysts to develop and deploy data products that support business decision-making.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in data engineering and apply that knowledge to improve our data systems.
Requirements:
  • 6+ years of experience in software development, data engineering, or systems architecture.
  • 6+ years of experience with Data Lake Infrastructure, Data Warehousing, and ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • 6+ years of experience in SQL optimization and performance tuning, and development experience in programming languages like Python, PySpark, Scala, etc.
  • 4+ years in cloud data engineering experience in at least one cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Proven track record of leading, mentoring, hiring, and scaling data teams.
  • Experience in multi-cloud services integration with on-premises technologies, data profiling and data quality using tools like Apache Griffin, Deequ, and Great Expectations, MPP database technologies such as Redshift, Synapse, or SnowFlake, cloud infrastructure applications and containerized services like Kubernetes, systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets, version control systems like Github and deployment & CI tools, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Machine learning tools.
  • Working knowledge of agile development, including DevOps and DataOps concepts.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English, along with the strong ability to influence senior-level management and stakeholders.
  • Strong change manager: comfortable with change, especially that which arises through company growth.
  • Ability to understand and translate business requirements into data and technical requirements.
  • High degree of organization and ability to manage multiple, competing projects and priorities simultaneously.
