Position: Clinical Costs Analyst

The Clinical Costs Analyst is responsible for overseeing the planning and monitoring of all external clinical study expenses across various regions, working closely with Clinical Development Operations, Oncology Development Operations, and Medical Affairs. This role provides expert financial guidance to local study teams, ensuring accurate financial planning for clinical trials. The Clinical Costs Analyst delivers critical analysis and insights regarding the financial aspects of clinical studies to Resource Management within Bayer Pharma Clinical Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the planning and tracking of external clinical study expenses within the designated cost tracking system, collaborating with study teams across regions.
  • Conduct financial forecasting for clinical study costs in collaboration with local study teams.
  • Calculate and record monthly accruals for clinical study expenses.
  • Monitor monthly actual costs and provide variance analysis to study teams.
  • Ensure the accuracy of country-specific study cost forecasts.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of country-specific cost factors in clinical studies and associated contracts.
  • Serve as the primary contact for country study teams regarding clinical study finances.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues at various professional levels and across functions in a diverse and international environment.
  • Seek support and guidance from the Bayer Local Organization as necessary.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Pharmaceuticals, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or a Contract Research Organization (CRO).
  • Advanced knowledge of finance is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the clinical development lifecycle and drug development processes.
  • Ability to influence effectively without hierarchical authority.
  • Adaptability to change and capability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Collaborative approach to working with all organizational levels.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, along with effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, and familiarity with financial systems.
