Position: Clinical Financial Analyst

The Clinical Financial Analyst is responsible for overseeing the budgeting and monitoring of all external clinical trial expenses across various regions, under the purview of Clinical Development Operations, Oncology Development Operations, and Medical Affairs. This role provides essential guidance to local study teams, leveraging expertise in financial planning for clinical trials. The Clinical Financial Analyst delivers insights and analysis regarding the financial aspects of clinical studies to Resource Management within Bayer Pharma Clinical Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the budgeting and tracking of external clinical trial expenses using the designated cost tracking system in collaboration with study teams across regions.
  • Conduct financial forecasting for clinical trial expenses in partnership with study teams.
  • Oversee the calculation and recording of monthly accruals related to clinical trial expenses.
  • Monitor monthly actual costs and provide variance analysis to study teams.
  • Ensure the accuracy of country-specific study cost forecasts.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of country-specific cost drivers in clinical trials and associated contracts.
  • Serve as the primary contact for country study teams regarding clinical trial finances.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues at various professional levels and across functions in a global and multicultural setting.
  • Seek support and guidance from the Bayer Local Organization as necessary.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Pharmaceuticals, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or a Contract Research Organization (CRO).
  • Advanced knowledge of finance is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the clinical development lifecycle and drug development processes.
  • Ability to influence effectively without formal authority.
  • Adaptability to change and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Collaborative mindset to work with all organizational levels.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, along with problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, and familiarity with financial systems.
