About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Specialist to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees and customers.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Monitor and Improve Site Performance: You will be responsible for monitoring site performance against set Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and creating plans to improve processes and reduce risks.
  2. Develop and Implement Safety Programs: You will set up workplace health and safety programs and arrange training sessions to ensure that employees are equipped with the knowledge and skills to work safely.
  3. Analyze Safety Metrics and Trends: You will analyze safety metrics and incident trends to help colleagues plan appropriate resources for areas with the highest risk.
  4. Conduct Audits and Implement Solutions: You will conduct audits to ensure that your site is compliant with relevant health and safety laws and implement solutions where you identify risks.
A Day in the Life

You will be based on one of our sortation centres, where you will work closely with colleagues from across the business to identify and mitigate risks. You will be responsible for setting up training and other programs to help employees follow new safety processes and reach new standards.

About the Team

Our WHS team plays a crucial role in keeping our employees mentally and physically well at work. We work with managers, associates, and local governments across our sites to ensure that we are complying with Amazon's policies and legal regulations, and that our workplaces are safe. There are a range of opportunities within the team, from Health and Safety Technicians to Programme Managers.

Requirements
  1. Experience of Lean, 5S, or Kaizen Methodologies: You will have experience of Lean, 5S, or Kaizen methodologies and be able to apply this knowledge to improve processes and reduce risks.
  2. Experience of Planning or Managing Environmentally Conscious Initiatives: You will have experience of planning or managing environmentally conscious initiatives and be able to apply this knowledge to reduce the environmental impact of our operations.
