Key Responsibilities- Plan and execute legal activities of large complexity to provide company-wide sound legal advice/counsel/decisions recommendations in support of SWIFT activities and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Provide legal support in company's new projects by undertaking research on specific legal problems/issues and offering opinions/counsels.
- Draft/review/recommend company contracts, participate in negotiations, recommend amendments to contracts worldwide for customers/suppliers/development projects/network.
- Set standards for company contracts and draft/review legal policies/procedures.
- Coordinate and follow up worldwide litigation with management, staff, and lawyers to ensure best possible settlement.
- Negotiate claims with third parties to avoid litigation.
- Liaise with management and staff, with customers/suppliers/lawyers/public administrations.
- Coordinate administrative tasks within the department and be an effective back-up for the manager and for colleagues.
- Maintain/develop own understanding of evolutions in relevant areas of the law including commercial and competition laws, licensing issues, and telecommunication matters to identify potential impact on SWIFT operations.
- Drive and assist less senior counsel in performing tasks.
- Review work of outside counsels.
- Manage a risk area and control framework on a project basis, understand the corporate strategic risk footprint, and propose solutions to mitigate such risk.
