Job Title: Desktop Support Specialist

At The Workshop, we're looking for a skilled Desktop Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our computer systems and providing top-notch support to our users.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide timely and effective support to our corporate user base of approximately 600 users across multiple offices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Windows, Mac, and Linux systems, as well as network and desktop setup for new employees and office moves.
  • Manage hardware inventory and purchasing requests, ensuring that all equipment is up-to-date and compliant with company policies.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for corporate policies and processes, and share knowledge of company tools with users to enhance their day-to-day work.
  • Support backup and restore policies for users' equipment, and optimize and automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency.
  • Work on project roll-outs and report progress to the team.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a Desktop Support or Technical Support role.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, Routing, Switching, and Firewalls.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills on desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, scanners, copiers, and audio/visual equipment.
  • Proven experience administering Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office/O365, MacOS, and Linux.
  • Strong skills managing Active Directory, and experience with management systems SCCM/MDT and MDM (Airwatch, Intune, Jamf).
  • Security Services experience, including Cisco Endpoint, Trend Micro, EPO, WSUS, Secunia, and VPN.
  • Experience with Dell/Lenovo/HP/Apple hardware.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong sense of responsibility and initiative.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high interpersonal skills and customer orientation.
