About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Compliance Specialist to join our European VAT Compliance & Controllership team in Barcelona. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the VAT compliance status of our third-party sellers and providing data to tax authorities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. VAT Registration and Compliance: Confirm the VAT registration and compliance status of third-party sellers across various jurisdictions.
  2. Data Provision: Provide transactional and other data to tax authorities in respect of third-party sellers.
  3. Access Management: Manage and control access of third-party sellers to Amazon marketplaces based on VAT compliance status and requests from tax authorities.
  4. VAT Registrations: Assist with VAT registrations across various jurisdictions.
  5. VAT Compliance Queries: Respond to VAT compliance queries from Amazon businesses operating across Europe.
  6. Internal and External Audit Support: Provide internal and external audit support, including data analysis.
  7. Collaboration: Provide support to colleagues throughout the business and, in particular, accounting groups.
  8. Process Improvement: Actively map VAT compliance processes and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree.
  2. Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications.
  3. Professional Experience: Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Multi-National Experience: Work experience working in a multi-national finance and/or VAT compliance function.
  2. Language Skills: Fluent verbal and written skills in Italian, German, or Spanish.
  3. Professional Certifications: Part of full professional tax or finance qualifications or similar credentials an advantage.
  4. Technical Background: Technical background and programming skills (SQL, VBA, Python, etc.).
