Job Title: Engineering Team Lead

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Team Lead to join our team in Madrid. As a key member of our Technology Department, you will be responsible for leading a cross-functional team focused on Client Evolution development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with product and technology teams to identify and prioritize key areas of a partner's business where AI solutions can drive significant business benefit.
  • Manage product priorities and drive efficiencies and best practices as Ebury grows and matures.
  • Represent the team in different forums and work closely with Product to have clear implementation plans for product roadmaps.
  • Foster technical decision-making on the team and make final decisions when necessary.
  • Draft and review quarterly Engineering KPIs for your team and define and implement best practices for monitoring, incident management, and troubleshooting of infrastructure and applications.
  • Design and implement automation tools and processes to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of new systems and services to ensure they meet our reliability and scalability requirements.
  • Manage the team's performance, develop career paths, and provide coaching and mentoring to team members.
  • Give regular and clear feedback around an individual's performance.
  • Keep up-to-date with emerging technologies, tools, and practices.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of basic algorithms, object-oriented and functional design principles, and best-practice patterns.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in managing teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of performance metrics.
  • Organizational and time-management skills.
  • Decision-making skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux systems, cloud infrastructure, networking, and databases.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing highly available and scalable applications.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g. Python, Bash, Ansible, Terraform).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English both written and spoken.
