Job Summary
The Financial Operations Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions. This role requires a strong leader who can oversee the financial team and ensure the smooth operation of financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Work closely with the Senior Controller to monitor financial performance and report variances to management.
- Prepare monthly financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.
- Implement accounting procedures, internal controls, and best practices to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Generate reports adhering to legal, regulatory, and corporate standards.
- Support financial due diligence and integration efforts in mergers and acquisitions.
- Ensure compliance with accounting practices and assist in year-end financial reporting.
- Serve as a liaison between the finance department and external vendors or financial institutions.
Requirements
- Academic background in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- Minimum of 5 years of Accounting/Finance experience.
- Experience in project accounting methods, including Percentage of Completion (POC) and Estimate at Completion (EAC)
- Minimum of 1 year of Accounting Team Management experience.
- Canadian CPA accreditation
- Exemplary technical acumen and analytical prowess, coupled with a keen eye for detail and precision.
- Effective and strategic communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrable track record in orchestrating end-to-end financial operations.
- Proven aptitude for multitasking with a proactive, hands-on approach.
- Ability to manage a large team
