Job Description

Ribbon Communications Operating Company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our pre-sales team, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance to our Account Directors and supporting the sales process for our Enterprise and Channel account base.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to Account Directors and Sales Engineers to ensure successful sales outcomes.
  • Develop and present product and application solutions to potential customers, highlighting the benefits and value of our solutions.
  • Work with the Account Director to identify revenue opportunities within our target account base and develop strategies to drive sales growth.
  • Coordinate and provide technical support to ensure that our solutions are selected by customers, including developing and presenting technical proposals and responding to RFPs and RFIs.
  • Collaborate with our Professional Services team to validate customer architecture and provide high-level network architecture support.
  • Interface with customers and Ribbon engineering to resolve technical issues and ensure timely delivery of solutions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and partners, providing exceptional customer service and support.
Requirements
  • Proven sales support experience and established relationships in the industry.
  • Thorough understanding of Voice over IP standards, applications, and practices.
  • Experience with Session Border Controllers and associated standards, applications, and practices.
  • Knowledge of NGN protocols, including SIP, SS7, H.323, H.248, and MGCP.
  • Understanding of security in NGNs, including IPSec, VPNs, NAT/Firewalls, and Ethernet, IP, IP routing, and MPLS.
  • Experience with hosted/cloud-based UC, IPBX, and IP Centrex solutions.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Skype for Business and Teams topologies, Broadsoft and BroadCloud topologies, WebRTC, SIP, VoIP, and other wireline/wireless Voice Technologies.
  • Experience with Virtual Machine concepts, Unix, XML, VMWare, KVM, OpenStack, Containers, and NFV.
  • Understanding of As a Service business models and experience in the Telecom industry with a proven track record of selling and partnering with Enterprise accounts, Systems Integrators, Tier 1 and Tier 2 Service Providers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with NFV, OpenStack, and Containers.
  • Experience in CRM use to create quotes around Ribbon Technologies.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with clients and partners at all levels.
  • Excellent team player with strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Results-oriented, self-motivated industry professional with a good sense of humor.
  • Consultative approach and proven solution selling techniques.
  • Focused under pressure and a good lateral thinker.
  • Excellent business acumen and technically astute.
