Job Opportunity
The Barcelona Supercomputing Center is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Operations Department as a High-Performance Computing Support Engineer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert-level support to users of the Spanish Supercomputing Network, resolving technical issues and assisting with application development to optimize resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with the User Support and Applications Consultant group to monitor performance and optimize parallel applications.
  • Design and implement new solutions to enhance the user experience and improve HPC resource utilization.
  • Develop automation tools to streamline incident resolution and facilitate team workflows.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Essential Knowledge and Experience: Proficiency in Linux systems, parallel programming models (MPI, OpenMP, threads), and desirable knowledge of MySQL, Python, and Bash scripting.
  • Competences: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to build strong relationships with the team, and a good level of English proficiency.
Working Conditions
  • The position will be located at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center within the Operations Department.
  • We offer a full-time contract with a competitive salary, flexible working hours, extensive training, and a range of benefits.
  • Duration: Open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration.
  • Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement.
