This role involves working on a high-profile project for the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) at our Santander location.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform machining tasks using various machines and tools, including robots.
  • Read and interpret positioning plans to prepare machines for machining operations.
  • Identify and report errors or inconsistencies in designs.
  • Prepare workstations, machines, tools, and parts for machining.
  • Use necessary safety equipment for machining operations.
  • Receive instructions and prepare materials for machining, including positioning, clamping, centering, and leveling.
  • Verify, modify, and produce CNC programs using RobotDK and/or Fusion 360.
  • Adjust cutting parameters based on machining type, materials, tolerances, and other factors.
  • Recommend optimizing machining times by modifying tools, sequences, and speed parameters.
  • Support dimensional checks to ensure correct completion of final machining.
  • Clean work areas and tools.

Requirements:

  • Higher or medium-level professional training in machining tools.
  • 3-10 years of experience in the requested position.
  • Ability to read plans.
  • Knowledge of overall mechanics.
  • Measuring tool proficiency.
  • Familiarity with CNC and CAM systems.
  • Desirable: multidisciplinary profile (welder, boilermaker-fitter, machinist) or openness to training in these areas.
  • Fluency in English or French; Spanish is a plus.
  • Efficient procedure reading skills.

Qualifications:

  • Crane operator certification.
  • Experience working at height (harness).
  • Confined spaces working experience.
  • Forklift operation skills.
  • Lifting platform experience.
  • Familiarity with Fusion 360, RoboDK, and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
  • Teamwork ability.
  • Meticulousness, precision, manual dexterity.
  • Sense of order and planning.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Adaptability.
