About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Category Support Specialist to join our dynamic procurement team. The Sourcing Specialist will play a critical role in the strategic sourcing and procurement activities of the company, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies to achieve cost savings, improve supplier performance, and ensure supply continuity.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to ensure the best possible terms for Axalta.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and quality assurance, to understand material requirements and ensure alignment with sourcing strategies.
- Manage supplier relationships, including performance evaluation, risk management, and issue resolution.
- Monitor industry trends and market conditions to proactively address potential supply chain disruptions.
- Prepare and analyze sourcing reports, metrics, and KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards in all sourcing activities.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline sourcing processes and enhance efficiency.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in the coatings, chemicals, or manufacturing industry.
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of achieving cost savings and favorable contract terms.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in using procurement software and tools (e.g., SAP, Ariba).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of supply chain risk management and sustainability practices is preferred.
