Transforming Logistics with Data Science

BASF Digital Solutions S.L. is seeking a talented Data Science Trainee to join our Site Logistics Management and Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in driving digital transformation and innovation in logistics and operations.

Our team provides end-to-end solutions to steer all logistics-related activities at production sites. We are expanding our portfolio of applications and services beyond existing systems to provide AI-driven solutions to our customers. You will help us deliver these AI solutions, learning the entire process from ideation to development and roll-out to production.

As part of our BASF Global Digital Trainee Program, you will have the opportunity to participate in an all-expense-paid international stint in Germany, enhancing your network and intercultural skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the team in identifying needs and requirements for effective AI solutions.
  • Learn how to ensure correct deployment to production and maintenance/support of models.
  • Help document processes and results to contribute to upscaling and managing services globally.
  • Research and stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in AI and machine learning.

Requirements:

  • Finishing a Bachelor's degree, preferably in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
  • Interest in programming and active involvement in extra-curricular activities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Positive learning spirit and growth mindset.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python.
  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and libraries.

Nice to Have:

  • University or training projects related to production or logistics.
  • Previous experience on cloud-based solutions.
  • Previous experience on Computer Vision, Generative AI, and analytics to process sensor/time-series data.
