We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Payroll Specialist to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in EMEA payroll, a strong command of English, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, international work environment.
This role requires a collaborative team player capable of working within a globally distributed team. The position is based in Madrid, with a hybrid work model requiring office presence twice a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monthly Payroll Coordination: Run and coordinate monthly payroll processes for EMEA countries with support from local payroll providers. This includes managing salary, holiday accrual, commissions, incentives, equity, health and income protection, and pensions.
- System and Process Improvement: Collaborate with key business stakeholders to define, design, and implement system, process, and reporting enhancements to ensure accurate payroll processing
- Primary Payroll Contact: Serve as a primary contact for all EMEA employees and third-party service providers regarding payroll inquiries and local taxation requirements and changes
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Finance & Accounting teams to ensure alignment and accuracy in payroll-related matters
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in EMEA payroll (preferably countries like: France, UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Germany, Spain...).
- Fluency in English and Spanish (French is a plus)
- Ability to adapt quickly to a very international and fast-paced work environment
- Strong team player with the ability to work effectively within a global, distributed team
- Office-based in Madrid with a requirement to be present in the office twice a week
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with local taxation requirements and changes within the EMEA region
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with employees and stakeholders effectively
- Strong analytical skills to identify and implement system and process improvements
