Job Overview

This role is part of Amazon Data Centers' team responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.

We are looking for a skilled Media Technician to join our diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. The successful candidate will be responsible for hard drive installation, removal, and destruction, as well as other key job responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Unpacking and repacking of fragile electronics
  2. Updating progress through a web ticketing system
  3. Basic networking equipment removal/installation and clearing of configurations
  4. Sanitization of networking equipment
  5. Relocating and moving of large enterprise equipment
  6. Creating/attaching labels and barcodes
  7. Reporting of processes and regular status updates
  8. Documentation of procedures
  9. Escalation to senior technicians and management as needed

Requirements
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware systems
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment, displaying excellent time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Industry standard certifications (CompTIA, Cisco, etc.)
  • 2+ years of relevant IT experience
  • 2+ years experience with a ticketing system
