Data Science Engineer: Advanced AI Model Development

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Science Engineer to join our team at the Institut de Ciència de Materials de Barcelona (ICMAB-CSIC). As a key member of our research group, you will be responsible for developing advanced artificial intelligence models to extract chemical, physical, and biological properties from complex molecular structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement advanced AI models using statistical, machine, and deep learning techniques to analyze large datasets of molecular structures.
  • Develop and maintain the infrastructure and workflow for data collection, including numerical data, text, and images from physical-chemical characterization.
  • Collaborate with our team to develop complementary multiscale molecular simulation models for physico-chemical interpretability.
  • Implement and report on the work plan in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Physics, Software Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Master's degree or related field will be positively evaluated.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a flexible and changing research environment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Advanced level of English.
What We Offer
  • Permanent contract associated with the Momentum Project for a duration of 4 years.
  • Annual gross salary of €41,098.95 according to the salary tables of CSIC.
