Job Summary

We are seeking a Legal Officer to provide legal advice and support to Softonic operations on a wide range of legal matters. As a Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that our company complies with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide timely and accurate legal advice to management and various departments on legal issues affecting the organization's operations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to ensure they comply with applicable laws and accurately reflect the company's interests.
  • Identify potential legal and compliance risks and liabilities and develop strategies to mitigate these risks effectively.
  • Assist in the resolution of legal disputes, including litigation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
  • Manage the organization's intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks, copyrights, and patents, and enforce its rights when necessary.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting the organization's industry and ensure that compliance programs are up-to-date and effective.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards across all aspects of the organization's activities.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on various issues, including case law, statutes, and regulations, to support informed decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Law; Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a legal officer or in a similar legal role for at least 6 years.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial and corporate law.
  • Experience or exposure in Compliance and Privacy.
  • Validated experience in Spanish Corporate affairs.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • High ethical standards and integrity.
  • Exposure to technology-related legal issues is a plus.
  • Native or Fluent in Spanish, professional English, and French as a plus (any other languages).
