Amazon is seeking a highly skilled EU Payments Policy Specialist to join our International Public Policy and Government Affairs Team in Brussels. As a key member of this dynamic team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing government engagement strategies to support our Payments business across the EU.

About You

We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong background in public policy and advocacy, particularly on payments and financial services issues. Your expertise in EU politics, policy, and lawmaking processes will enable you to develop effective outreach strategies and drive advocacy objectives that support our payments business organizational goals.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement government engagement strategies to support our Payments business across the EU.
  • Partner with policymakers and officials at EU institutional and national government levels.
  • Formulate, coordinate, and implement government engagement strategies to support our Payments business with governments across the EU.
  • Drive engagements with regulators and intergovernmental organizations.
  • Lead Amazon's engagement with relevant external stakeholders and coalitions.
  • Work closely with Amazon's public policy, public relations, legal, and payments business functions to establish the public policy and advocacy agenda.
  • Monitor and report relevant political and legislative developments.
  • Draft collateral and coordinate external advocacy efforts, outreach programs, and key initiatives in concert with business objectives.
  • Facilitate high-level meetings with key policymakers, association executives, and other relevant stakeholders involving business leaders as necessary.
  • Manage consultancy support.

Your Skills and Qualifications

  • Relevant public policy and advocacy experience on payments and financial services issues.
  • A keen understanding of EU politics and policy, EU lawmaking processes, and government relations.
  • High judgment and ability to make the right trade-offs between priorities, resources, and scope in order to deliver on multiple projects.
  • English oral and written fluency.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master's Degree or Advanced Degree in a field relevant to the role (Law, Economics, Political Science, Finance).
  • Knowledge and experience in advocacy and public policy development and campaign execution pertaining to existing and emerging payments and financial services policy issues in the EU.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and comfortably interact at the highest corporate and political levels.

About the Location

This role is based in our Brussels office and requires occasional travel to meet with stakeholders and attend events.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of €80,000 - €110,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including health insurance, retirement plan, and generous paid time off.
