We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our team at Moffatt & Nichol, a leading global infrastructure advisor specializing in the planning and design of facilities that shape and serve our coastlines, harbors, and rivers.

The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for a wide range of HR tasks, including employment, employee relations, performance management, benefits, recognition, and compensation administration. This role will interact with staff at all levels and provide technical guidance/direction to colleagues and our leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish a culture to support employees through their lifecycle from onboarding through to development
  • Ensure compliance with country labor laws and company policies
  • Address employee concerns, conduct investigations, and ensure a positive work environment
  • Partners with various HR functions to assist employees in the various concerns that may come up through the employee life cycle
  • Support employee development with local providers ensuring health & safety compliance, personal development, and leadership development
  • Assist in the implementation of corporate policy at the business unit or division level
  • Facilitates organization and leadership development efforts, working with employees and managers to address root causes of human resources issues
  • Resolves employee relations issues through a systematic approach
  • Assists senior management in the development of solutions through cultural and process perspective organizational development
  • Develops and drives company-wide programs and initiatives
  • Lead special projects in the realm of human resources management

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 5-10 years of experience in a human resources department
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems
  • Excellent English and Spanish verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality

Preferred Requirements:

  • Professional HR Qualification
  • Masters Degree in a related field
  • Experience in immigration administration and/or International assignments a plus
  • SHRM-CP

Working Conditions:

Sedentary for prolonged periods of time, interact with clients, and travel occasionally.
