Key Responsibilities- Design Automation Software Development: Develop, deploy, and maintain engineering software solutions, including CAD libraries, software application distribution, and standards/process/training libraries.
- Scripting and Automation: Develop and maintain the background environment, producing scripting necessary to extend the capabilities of the software, streamline workflows, and explore innovative design approaches.
- Automation Utilities: Develop and maintain automation utilities using Cadence SKILL and LINUX scripting languages.
- User Support: Provide user support for Process Design Kits (PDKs) and design capture and layout tools to worldwide design centers.
- PDK Development: Develop and maintain in-house PDKs and customize external foundry PDKs in collaboration with design teams and technology development teams.
- Scripting and Environment Setup: Produce custom scripts to set the environment and add functionalities under revision control.
- Software Configuration and Deployment: Configure, test, and deploy CAD and Simulation software applications.
- Customer Service: Provide customer service, including troubleshooting engineering software application issues.
- Documentation and Training: Develop and manage engineering process documentation, and provide engineering software training and consulting services to global engineers.
- Interoperability and Data Management: Create, manage, and update scripts to facilitate the import and export of data between different CAD programs or between CAD and other software tools.
- PDK Support and Enhancement: Support, enhance, and maintain PDKs and various Analog/Mixed-Signal design tools.
- Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of LEF, DEF, LIB, GDS formats, and experience with Siemens tools, Calibre, and Questa.
- Programming Skills: Develop software for automation in Skill, Perl, Python, Unix Shell, and tcl/tk scripting.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work with EDA vendors to track and resolve issues, and collaborate with Technology Foundry teams to facilitate debugging and proper characterization of tool-related issues.
- Software Tools and Experience: Experience in all phases of CAD tools from evaluation, QA, test, release, and user support to documentation.
- Technical Background: Solid background in programming skills, circuit design, and device physics knowledge to help solve circuit design, layout, physical verification, and post-layout extraction challenges and problems.
- DesSync Experience: Experience in DesSync Syncronicity management.
- Education and Experience: BS/MS in EE/CS or equivalent with 7+ years of experience.
