VC Investment Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced VC Investment Associate to join our team at Toyota Research Institute. As a key member of our investment team, you will be responsible for identifying and evaluating investment opportunities in frontier and climate technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Network and Build Relationships: Establish and maintain relationships with entrepreneurs, investors, and industry experts in the deep tech ecosystem.
- Deal Sourcing and Evaluation: Identify and evaluate investment opportunities in areas such as AI, mobility, autonomy, robotics, fintech, digital health, smart cities, and materials.
- Due Diligence and Competitive Analysis: Conduct thorough due diligence and competitive analysis on potential investment opportunities.
- Investment Committee Presentations: Prepare and present investment recommendations to the Investment Committee.
- Deal Negotiations and Closings: Support deal negotiations and closings, including the preparation of investment documents.
- Industry Research and Analysis: Analyze industry trends and author market research briefings to inform investment decisions.
- Portfolio Company Support: Collaborate with the Toyota Ventures platform team to support portfolio companies.
- 3+ Years of Experience: Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a related role, preferably in venture capital or an operational role in a technology company.
- Relevant Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, engineering, or another relevant field. An advanced degree is a plus.
- Strong Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong financial modeling and analysis skills, and extensive experience working with Excel and Google Suite.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: Entrepreneurial-minded and well-networked, with a passion for learning about new technologies and understanding their business potential.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with team members and maintain strict confidentiality.
We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 to $155,000 per year, a generous benefits package, and an annual cash bonus structure. If you are a motivated and experienced professional looking to join a dynamic team, please submit your application.
