Business Controller

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Controller to join our team at Affinity Petcare Sa. As a Business Controller, you will be responsible for monitoring financial performance, supporting the planning and reporting process, and providing ad-hoc financial information to facilitate fact-based decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:- Participate in the construction of budgets, forecasts, and key figure reports.
- Manage and lead the P&L account of Portugal, ensuring compliance with accounting principles.
- Provide the local team with insights and analysis of results, identifying underlying trends and challenging the business performance.
- Understand and explain monthly and yearly variances (actual vs previous month, vs budget, vs forecast).
- Support the commercial organization in the negotiation process.
- Oversee trade terms execution, balance price volume for profitability, and ensure accurate accruals and balance sheet status.
- Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to develop business cases and ad-hoc analysis.
- Participate in the target-setting process and plan follow-up.
- Assist in the ongoing digital transformation of the consolidation and reporting function.
- Share forecasts and actuals with stakeholders, promoting transparency and ownership through the review process.
- Degree in Business Administration or Economics.
- At least 2 years of working experience in a finance controller or similar role.
- Analytical skills with attention to detail and an understanding of the bigger picture.
- Communication skills to present findings to stakeholders.
- Team player with a results-oriented mindset.
- Systematic and structured approach to problem-solving.
- Curiosity and continuous improvement mindset.
- Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
