About the Role

The B2C Analytics team at Dow Jones is seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our team. As a Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in developing analytics solutions to help the organization make better data-driven decisions.

You will support the Consumer side of the business, which includes WSJ, Barron's, MarketWatch, and more. You will work closely with Product, Marketing, Newsroom, Finance, Data Collection, Data Engineering, and other B2C Stakeholder Business teams to develop stakeholder partnerships and execute data project roadmaps based on Business teams' priorities.

You will have a thorough understanding of all the B2C data sources that we leverage in our Analysis projects and partner with data engineers and data collection colleagues to collect, cleanse, and consistently organize data. You will analyze large datasets to surface trends and deliver recommendations with tangible business outcomes.

You will create intuitive reports, dashboards, and data solutions using visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker Studio) and identify ways to improve and streamline processes around data and reporting. You will ensure the quality of data and reporting and partner with teams to improve accuracy and consistency.

You will communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences and have a team-oriented and collaborative mindset with eagerness to help others and aspiration to be challenged and learn.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop stakeholder partnerships with Product, Marketing, Newsroom, Finance, Data Collection, Data Engineering, and other B2C Stakeholder Business teams
  • Execute data project roadmaps based on Business teams' priorities
  • Understand B2C data sources and partner with data engineers and data collection colleagues to collect, cleanse, and consistently organize data
  • Analyze large datasets to surface trends and deliver recommendations with tangible business outcomes
  • Create intuitive reports, dashboards, and data solutions using visualization tools
  • Identify ways to improve and streamline processes around data and reporting
  • Ensure the quality of data and reporting and partner with teams to improve accuracy and consistency

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent in combination of training and experience, preferably in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related disciplines
  • Experience working with large datasets in a fast-paced and fluid environment with the ability to understand and solve complex non-routine problems
  • Experience with SQL and strong knowledge of Excel/Sheets required
  • Familiarity with Github, Python/R preferred
  • Experience with web analytics tools (particularly Google Analytics 4 and Adobe Analytics) is a plus
  • Experience with data visualizations tools and techniques, and using data to tell a story (e.g. Tableau, Looker)
