Job Description

At Taxfix, we're seeking a highly skilled Director of Product Engineering to lead our product engineering teams in shaping the strategic direction, architecture, and development process of our products. As a key member of our senior tech leadership team, you'll report directly to the CTO and be responsible for inspiring and leading our product engineering group in Madrid.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership & Strategy: Provide technical leadership, drive technical excellence, and innovation, ensuring the adoption of best practices and cutting-edge technologies, services, and tools.
  • Team Management & Development: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of mobile App and Web, FE and BE engineers, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Architecture & Design: Oversee the architecture and design of solutions, ensuring velocity, reliability, scalability, security, and cost efficiency.
  • Quality & Performance: Establish and enforce quality standards and best practices for software development and operation, ensuring products meet performance benchmarks and provide a seamless and reliable experience to our customers.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Design, and Platform engineering, to ensure seamless product lifecycle management from concept to deployment and operation.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record in building scalable, high-performance products, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
  • Extensive software engineering and technical design and development experience with complex and highly scalable products using multiple mobile and web technologies, public cloud platforms (ideally GCP), and programming languages (Javascript, Go - a plus).
  • Familiarity with AI and machine learning technologies and their application in product development.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
