Job Description

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Renewable Energy Origination Specialist to join our team at Edp Energias De Portugal S.A. as a Power Purchase Agreement Originator and Energy Market Intelligence Analyst. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our renewable energy transition efforts.

Main Responsibilities

  • Analyze and provide in-depth research of market mechanisms, regulatory changes affecting renewables, market insights (grid code, market share, counterparty, etc.) and any other support needed for the Origination activities (i.e. new market and/or product analysis).
  • Develop Market Intelligence in existing markets (i.e. Market Soundings).
  • Prepare documentation directed either to (i) Buyers (commercial presentations) and to (ii) EDPR's Top Management.
  • Contractual review and analysis of energy-related contracts (i.e. long-term PPAs, balancing services contracts).
  • Proactively participate in the complete chain from the origination to the execution of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with Utilities and Commercial or Industrial Customers (C&Is) in the designated regions.
  • Coordinate with EDPR internal relevant departments (M&A, Finance, Risk, Legal, local Business Units, Asset Operations) or external stakeholders when needed.
  • Maintain the departmental reporting line (both through periodic and special purpose reports).

Requirements

  • Undergraduate and master's degree required (master's degree in renewables is highly valued).
  • Preference for Engineering or Economics degrees with international experience.
  • Excellent written and spoken Spanish and English. Additional languages are a plus.
  • Proved experience working with contracts in English.
  • Familiar with electricity markets jargon.
