About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Renewable Energy Origination Specialist to join our team at EDP Renováveis. As a key member of our PPA Origination department, you will play a crucial role in driving the growth of our renewable energy business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Market Analysis and Research: Conduct in-depth research of market mechanisms, regulatory changes affecting renewables, and market insights to support Origination activities.
  • Market Intelligence Development: Develop market intelligence in existing markets, including market soundings and commercial presentations.
  • Contractual Review and Analysis: Review and analyze energy-related contracts, including long-term PPAs and balancing services contracts.
  • PPA Origination and Execution: Proactively participate in the complete chain from origination to execution of Power Purchase Agreements with Utilities and Commercial or Industrial Customers.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders as needed to ensure successful project execution.
  • Reporting and Communication: Maintain the departmental reporting line through periodic and special purpose reports.
Requirements
  • Academic Qualifications: Undergraduate and master's degree required, with a preference for Engineering or Economics degrees with international experience.
  • Language Skills: Excellent written and spoken Spanish and English, with additional languages a plus.
  • Professional Experience: +2 years of experience in the electric power industry, including energy trading, feasibility analysis of renewable energy projects, renewable energy regulation, PPA sales, and/or commercial strategy.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Electricity/energy markets regulation and renewable energy technologies, financial modeling and economic analysis, excellent presentation and communication skills, and experience dealing with energy or financial contracts.
