About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Specialist to join our Data & Analytics organization at Siemens Energy. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in driving the energy transformation by ensuring the effective management of our data assets.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Implement Data Governance Frameworks: Design and implement data governance frameworks, policies, and standards to ensure data quality, integrity, and security.
  2. Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business partners, data owners, and technology teams, to ensure data governance best practices are adopted and implemented.
  3. Communicate Data Governance Concepts: Develop and deliver training programs, workshops, and presentations to upskill and onboard stakeholders on data governance concepts, principles, and best practices.
  4. Design and Execute Data Maturity Models: Develop and implement data maturity models to assess and improve data governance capabilities across the organization.
  5. Coordinate Data Governance Audits: Plan, execute, and report on data governance audits to ensure compliance with data governance policies and standards.
  6. Support Data Governance Boards and Forums: Collaborate with the Digital Core business partners to build a stronger operating model that brings data governance roles, the data governance function, and technology teams together.
Requirements
  1. University Degree: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field.
  2. Experience: 5+ years of experience in data management, preferably in a large organization with a complex data landscape, ideally in the energy sector.
  3. Skills and Knowledge: Proven track record of operating within large data governance programs, with expert understanding of existing data management frameworks and best practices. Strong facilitation skills, excellent communication and presentation skills, and experience with data management solutions such as data catalogs and data quality tools.
