Job Title: International Vendor Manager

As an International Vendor Manager at zooplus SE, you will play a crucial role in managing the relationship with external vendors. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee various aspects of vendor interactions, including sourcing, negotiation, contract management, and ongoing communication.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contract Negotiation and Management: Support the Lead or Senior VM in negotiating terms and conditions of contracts with vendors to ensure favorable terms for the company while meeting the needs of both parties.
  • Supplier Management: Manage the relationship with the supplier in areas under their responsibility, including promotions, marketing, and assortment.
  • Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales, margins, inventory turnover, and share to identify areas for improvement and optimize manufacturer performance.
  • Strategic Planning: Support the Lead or Senior VM in developing and implementing long-term strategies or Joint Business Plans (JBPs) aligned with the company's overall objectives, market trends, and customer preferences.
  • Assortment Planning: Select and manage the assortment of products to meet customer demand and drive sales.
  • Pricing and Promotion: Work with the sales and pricing departments to maximize revenue and profitability through the analysis of competitive landscape, consumer behavior, and market trends.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Manage the entire lifecycle of products for the supplier, from introduction to retirement, including new product development, inventory management, and clearance strategies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various internal teams, including marketing, sales, pricing, operations, and finance, to align category strategies with overall business objectives and ensure seamless execution.
  • Market Research and Trend Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, consumer preferences, and competitive activities through market research, data analysis, and industry insights to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in Category Management, Vendor Management, or Purchasing, ideally in retailing or the pet industry.
  • Strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and ability to structure complex facts.
  • Ability to unlock complex issues and work proactively on proposals and solutions.
  • Ability to understand customer needs and market requirements to enhance the customer experience.
  • Ability to think and react in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
  • Influencing abilities and vendor management experience.
  • Highly polished communication skills, including speaking, writing, presenting, and negotiating.
  • Business fluent in English, Spanish is a plus.
  • Product and industry knowledge in pet, retail, or FMCG industry.
  • Proficient in MS-Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
