Commercial Investment Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Investment Manager to join our team at Ausnet Services Ltd. As a key member of our Development & Future Networks (D&FN) team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our energy infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the identification, assessment, and mitigation of commercial risks through effective pricing, contracting, and insurance strategies.
- Negotiate with customers to ensure project-wide value is optimized and realized across all parties involved in the transaction while mitigating risks.
- Prepare investment business cases for new investment opportunities in preparation for executive and board review.
- Present approval papers and business cases to relevant executives and delegates in seeking approvals specific to new infrastructure deals or variations.
- Liaise with and build trusting relationships across the Ausnet Services business with various internal stakeholders and ensure stakeholders are well informed during the negotiation process.
- Utilize their feedback as subject matter experts, including Treasury, Finance, and Legal.
- Lead objective commercial and pricing build-up and provide commercial insights to the Ausnet D&FN team.
- Support the submission of Business Cases for new investment opportunities and negotiation of supplier contracts.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in finance, commerce, law, engineering, or an associated discipline.
- Completion of postgraduate studies (MBA/ICAA/CPA) and/or chartered environment experience preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial negotiations.
- Further experience in financial management in the energy industry or critical infrastructure is favorable.
- Well-versed in corporate finance principles and infrastructure asset pricing.
- Detailed understanding of and ability to negotiate contracts, manage contracts, and properly allocate risks across various stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and analytically minded.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills that evidence a high capacity to influence at all levels, including executives.
