Role of the Commercial Property Associate Underwriter
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in underwriting assigned risks.
- Establish and nurture relationships with brokers.
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling across different business lines.
- Facilitate the sales process for new products.
- Support the Front Desk Unit/Customer Service Group.
- Maintain a target list and generate submissions to achieve new business objectives.
- Possess knowledge of underwriting concepts, practices, procedures, and techniques.
Qualifications:
- Relevant experience in the insurance sector, particularly in Property, Energy, or Construction.
- Preferred qualifications include an engineering degree, or a university degree in Law, Business Administration, or Economics.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- An outgoing and entrepreneurial mindset.
- A results-oriented approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective negotiation, communication, and presentation abilities.
- Robust analytical and organizational skills.
- Confident in using systems and PC applications, particularly spreadsheets.
