Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Market Operations Specialist to join our dynamic team at Zerohero. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting our short-term portfolio for ERCOT and future ISOs/RTOs markets, load forecasts, protocols for daily position reporting and management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the analysis of the ERCOT wholesale market, as well as other ISOs/RTOs.
  • Support the energy sale strategy in the ERCOT wholesale market for both the Day-Ahead Market and the Real-Time Market.
  • Support the scheduling and dispatching of the assets in operation in ERCOT, as well as other ISOs/RTOs at which Zerohero may have assets in operation in the future.
  • Develop and maintain market reports per requests and internal processes.
  • Analyze and create new solutions for data acquisition and reporting.
  • Support the reporting procedures on market fundamentals, portfolio positions, profit & loss, and gross margin impact for Senior Management and other areas of the company.
  • Assist in addressing questions from the rest of the areas of the company pertaining to the daily and real-time markets, grid operations activities, and market processes.
  • Escalate issues to the Supervisor and/or Manager in a timely manner when necessary.
  • Develop strong working relationships with other internal departments and external service providers.
  • Support the testing and validation changes to the applications used by the team to perform energy sale in the different markets and market processes.
  • Perform analysis and programming thru different tools when needed (Excel, Visual Basic, Matlab/R/Python).

Requirements:

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the USA on a full-time basis, for anyone other than current employer.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or other relevant field of study required.
  • 2-5 years previous experience in Market Operations, Power Scheduling/Dispatching, and/or Trading in ERCOT power markets and/or other ISOs/RTOs.
  • Must be self-motivated and be capable of setting and executing strategy to accomplish given goals.
  • Works independently and escalates issues to the Supervisor and/or Manager in a timely manner when necessary.
  • Develops strong working relationships with other internal departments.
