Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our team in Barcelona. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a key role in driving business growth through data-driven insights and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Combine independent problem-solving tasks with proactive integration in a highly dynamic team.
- Explore different data sources to identify, define, and develop new process optimization strategies.
- Maintain, update, and improve existing algorithms and machine learning models.
- Explore current industry trends and recent academic research to update and enhance in-house workflows.
- Collaborate closely with the Principal Data Scientist to lead advanced analytics projects and contribute to the development of cutting-edge data science strategies.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical leadership to data scientists, helping them develop their skills and grow professionally.
- Lead by example in applying best practices, methodologies, and tools for data analysis, modeling, and software development.
Requirements
- Degree in an analytical field (e.g. Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science or other technical field) is a must.
- Master Degree in Data Science, AI, Applied Maths, Applied Statistics, Machine Learning or similar will be a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in machine learning, optimization, and software development.
- Strong programming skills with Python.
- Exposure to Big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop MapReduce, Hive or Impala will be a plus.
- Familiarity with software engineering best practices.
- Knowledge in specific SQL DB Systems such as Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server.
- Hands-on experience in cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
- Ability to think analytically, quantitatively, and creatively.
- Good communication skills.
- Advanced level of Spanish and English.
