Wine Service Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Wine Service Specialist to join our team at Marriott International. As a Wine Service Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional wine service to our guests, including issuing, opening, and serving wine and champagne bottles. You will also be responsible for answering guest questions and concerns regarding the origin, vintage, and style of various wines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Issue, open, and serve wine and champagne bottles to guests
  • Answer guest questions and concerns regarding wine
  • Update and maintain wine lists and MICROS system
  • Pair and suggest wines to complement menu items
  • Attend wine tastings and develop relationships with vendors
  • Request new wines and products
  • Create and update wine lists
  • Design and implement wine promotions and incentive programs
  • Monitor and replenish wine cellar inventory
  • Train and educate server and bartender staff
  • Conduct vintage and BIN number checks
  • Conduct staff wine tastings
  • Secure liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas
  • Follow all state and local laws for serving alcohol responsibly

Requirements

  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds
  • Ability to grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight
  • Ability to move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces
  • Ability to reach overhead and below the knees
