We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Squash Breeder to join our team at Rijk Zwaan. As a key member of our Squash breeding team, you will be responsible for developing new squash varieties for various market segments worldwide.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement breeding programs to improve squash traits and characteristics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and execute research projects.
- Conduct phenotyping and genotyping of squash varieties to identify desirable traits.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders to understand market needs and preferences.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in plant breeding and genetics to inform breeding strategies.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Applied Biology, or Plant Breeding.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish languages.
